We will be starting a pre-pointe class that will be on Mondays from 5-5:30pm. Pre-pointe class is a very specific class for preparing a dancer to be able to dance on pointe. Preparation for pointe work is a gradual process that begins with barre exercises to develop the requisite strength in the legs, feet, ankles, and core to be strong enough to dance on pointe. It does take dedication and extra work and must be combined with ballet, jazz, and/or lyrical technique classes.
The goal is for the class to work to develop the necessary strength to get pointe shoes by Christmas break of 2024. This time frame will depend on the dancers and their dedication to acquiring the skills necessary to get their shoes. There is no additional shoe expense at the beginning of the pre-pointe class. It isn't until the dancers buy their first pair of pointe shoes that you will incur the expense of purchasing them.
The first class will be on Monday, June 3rd from 5-5:30pm with Mrs. Melissa as the main instructor.
